Somerton Capital Investment Criteria
Somerton Capital LLP is a fund that invests directly in companies which possess the following characteristics:-
- a medium sized business based in the UK (preferably in the South)
- a strong management team with the breadth of skills and ability to grow the company quickly. Not all of the elements of the team need to be in place at the time of investment. We can help build the team as required
- a product or service with strong competitive advantage
- a focus on under-served, growing and potentially substantial markets
- a scaleable business model
- potential to achieve an exit for investors within three to five years.
Somerton Capital LLP is also interested in businesses that are:-
- pre pack administrations where the demise of the business lies outside its core operating model
- products where there is a regulatory headwind behind operating subsidiaries of larger groups that are no longer core.
Somerton Capital Investment Strategy
- Somerton Capital LLP expects to invest between £250k and £1 million at the time of a first investment and will follow on where appropriate in subsequent funding rounds.
- In certain circumstances, we can follow on investments to provide a total of £3 million to any one company.
- We aim to keep financing structures simple in order to align our interests with the entrepreneurs as far as possible.
- We will not invest in Start-up companies.
- Most sectors are eligible although there are some restrictions.
